Where is Calcasieu Rod and Gun located?
We are located at 287 Southside Street, Sulphur La 70665. This is about two and a half hours from Houston Texas and about 15 minutes south of Lake Charles Louisiana. Click Here for a Map and directions.
When is the Best time to come fishing?
We have guided fishing trips year-round but the best time of fishing is in spring and fall. If we can get a calm day with good water clarity it usually means a day of tight lines and a loaded cooler.
When is the Best time to come hunting?
We have guided hunting trips for ducks of course this is seasonal. please check for annual dates. Alligator season is annually September and October. Book alligator trips early there is only a limited number of tags. Hog and cayote hunts are year-round but spring and fall have the most comfortable weather.
Do I need a fishing License? (YES)
Yes, to fish you will need a Louisiana Saltwater license you will need to buy a license ahead of time: A 3 Day Saltwater Charter out-of-state fishing license is $25. per person to fish with a licensed Guide. Hunting trips each require a license for each targeted specie refer to the page for your hunt for that specific license. These licenses are available at most Louisiana Wal-Mart Stores or Louisiana Sporting Goods Stores. What should I bring on my fishing trip?
We suggest you bring a hat, your phone or camera, loose-fitting clothes, sunglasses, rain gear, sunscreen, and a cooler to bring your catch home with you.
